The vernier sprockets made it easy to get the timing chain back on. New collars, lock washers and bolts used.
I think I'm going to have to pull the rad to get the degree wheel on the crank pulley.
The new carb linkage shipped today. Thanks to Emmanuel from http://www.classiccarbs.co.uk.

Carb linkage headaches
It looks like my carb woes are not over.
I put the Lotus throttle lever on the Weber 40 DCOE 149s and found the return spring does not clear the body. The new style carburetor has an extra ear that interferes with it (see below).
So, finally, I ordered a Mangoletsi throttle linkage, which should solve this problem and give me more room to work under the hood - a good thing!

Back at it
I finally got some time to work on the Lotus tonight. The first task was reconnecting the coolant hoses and temperature gauge. Hooray!
Here is one of the vernier cam sprockets from QED. These eliminate the need for offset dowels and let me set the valve timing accurately.

Ideas for a future project - I have a fibreglass cover, now I need to think about making a back plate.
